Eat 15% of your food from Group 4
Group 4a - Starchy Vegetables, Other Fruit & Nuts, Legumes, Rice & Grains:
Starches are very mucus-forming, hard to digest, and gluey in the bowels. 
Ok to combine with Group 1 at the same meal. Do not combine with Groups 2, 4(b), 5(b), or 6 at the same meal.
Group 4b - Protein/Starches including Beans & Peas:
Beans are acid-forming, contain purines, and are hard to digest.
It takes more energy to digest, assimilate and excrete beans than the value you get out of them.
Avoid unsprouted beans. Do not combine two different types of protein at the same meal.
Ok to combine with Group 1 at the same meal. Do not combine with Groups 2, 3, 4(a), 5(b), or 6 at the same meal.


Eat 0.5% of your food from Group 5
Group 5(a) - Oils including Vinegars and Salad Dressings
Group 5(b) - Sugars including Sweeteners
Group 5(c) - Miscellaneous


Eat 0.5% of your food from Group 6
(in other words, have very, very infrequently)
Group 6 - Animal Protein & Dairy
Ok to combine with Group 1 at the same meal.
Do not combine with Groups 2, 3, or 4(ab) at the same meal.
Do not combine two different types of protein at the same meal.
