Where do you get your truth?

Truth is evasive... it's hard to pin down. There are not very many of us who know truth absolutely.

We only know a little bit of absolute truth, like rocks are hard and water is wet. For the rest of our truth, we look to others for evidence. We rely on stories from families and friends, we rely on 'expert' opinion, we rely on general consensus. We form our standards, base our conclusions, make our decisions (the derivation of which means to kill-off the alternative), and live our lives, based mostly on hearsay, and only stop to reconsider our standard fundamental operating procedures when we are hit in the head with new, overpowering evidence. And the cycle goes on and on.

Stories become our truth, and we live our lives based on stories.

So what if the stories you've been embracing as truth were, in fact, myths perpetrated by people with an agenda?

The real truth is that you have been lied to. All your life, and all your parent's lives, and all your grand-parent's lives... in fact, for over the last one hundred years... you have been the victim of spin.

Spin is when someone tells a story while pushing their own agenda, their own point-of-view, their own self-interest. This thing you call your reality is really the sum total of all of the spin you have accepted as truth.

Which leads me to Randall Fitzgerald and Dr. John Abramsom.

In my search for truth related to nutrition my eyes were opened wide by the work of these two fine men who are attempting to shine the light of truth on old spin.

Randall Fitzgerald, ( in his book The Hundred Year Lie - How Food and Medicine are Destroying Your Health, tells how "human beings are fast becoming one of the most polluted species on the planet. He says that "your body has become so toxic that you would never pass an FDA inspection."

The inside cover of The Hundred Year Lie reads: "One hundred years ago, the promise of 'better living through chemistry' was given to consumers, setting us on a slippery slope that introduced thousands of man-made chemicals into our food, water, medicine, and environment. (This book) shatters dozens of myths being perpetuated by the chemical, pharmaceutical, and processed foods industries, (and) shows how early advances led to a buildup of industry, and how the profit motive then led companies and even our own government to ignore troubling signs of widespread illness and disease."

Dr. John Abramsom's work ( is equally enlightening. In his book, Overdosed America - The Broken Promise of American Medicine [How the pharmaceutical companies are corrupting science, misleading doctors, and threatening your health], he discusses the commercialization of American medicine. He states that the pharmaceutical industry is geared towards maximum profit rather than maximum health.

Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation, says of Dr. Abramsom's book, "Some of the nation's worst drug dealers aren't peddling on the street corners, they're occupying corporate suites. Overdosed America reveals the greed and corruption that drive health care costs skyward and now threatens the public health. Before you see a doctor, you should read this book."

To repeat, my eyes were opened wide about corporate spin when I read the works of Randal Fitzgerald and Dr. John Abramsom. I then began to study the corrupt corporate influence on the subject of nutrition. I began to question where I got my fundamental beliefs about food and nutrition. What in the world was the truth about food anyway?

I assumed - rightly - that what we put in (and on) our bodies has fundamentally important effects for all of the other aspects of our lives. I decided that, since my body had become a cesspool of foreign elements caused by my use of food and pharmaceutical industry products, I had better damned well straighten up my act, and clean out my body.

I, therefore, began a more formal study of nutrition, and I began to see the wisdom of adapting to a more "greener" way of life. The information presented in this website is the result of that study. It is a "battle plan" to achieve a healthier way of living.

The first prong of this plan was to assume responsibility for, and control over, what I was putting into, and on, my body. I began to eat the best foods which I describe later in my Food Charts. I began to eat raw, whole, organic foods. I also began to keenly observe the ingredients in products which I used on my skin (skin creams, after shave, shampoos, etc.).

The second prong of this plan was to rid my body of harmful heavy metals. I studied everything I could about the sources of body pollutants. I studied about detoxification, and I began to compare the various procedures for cleaning out my body. The conclusions of my studies are presented in this website's sections entitled Why Detox?, Detox Success, and Detox Action Plan.

The results of my food, supplementation, and detoxification studies are offered herein for your consideration, examination and study.

Somewhere along the line I began to understand how fundamentally important our physical state-of-being is to the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of our lives. I realized that, to achieve an even higher state of human perfection, we had to start with fine-tuning our bodies.

I also began to quite clearly see that we, as a society, are quite literally what we eat. People nourished with raw/steamed, whole, organic foods produce one result. People malnourished with processed, manufactured foods produce quite another.

I submit that we could solve all human problems, from ending world hunger, to achieving World Peace, by perfecting our individual bodies, minds, and spirits.

I also submit that there may very well be an even higher aspiration than achieving World Peace.

In his book, The Detox Miracle Sourcebook, Dr. Robert Morse talks about an experience he had while eating only fruit for four years, and raising his consciousness, energy and vibrational levels. "I was traveling 'out of body' into some of the most magnificent worlds of God that exist beyond the normal human experience. I felt like I merged with God, leaving 'me' behind. I became unlimited. I had no point of reference, as I wanted or desired nothing. I was totally fulfilled. My love for God and all life intensified beyond words."

I suggest that we, as individuals and thus as a society, can begin to prepare for transformation, transcendence, and/or ascension, whereby we experience an even more spacious, all-encompassing, all-knowing, unlimited, peaceful and free way of living, a life of abundance and synergy beyond present imagination.

The invitation is open for you to join me on this path.

So Why Doesn't Our Food Taste As Good As It Did In The Old Days?

The value in food comes from the condition of the soil it grows in. Today, the soil in our country is said to be depleted because it lacks the valuable nutrients of yesteryear. Here's a quote that should concern us all: "As a result of our human 'highly technological' gardening, most of the soil of agricultural farms in the USA contains less than 2% of organic matter, while originally, before the era of chemistry, it was 60-100%. According to David Blume, an ecological biologist, permaculture teacher and expert, 'Most Class I commercial agricultural soil is lucky to hit 2% organic matter - the dividing line between a living and dead soil.'"
- Victoria Boutenko, Green For Life

We can turn this problem around.
Mrs. Boutenko continues, "By applying permaculture gardening techniques to a field of extremely depleted soil... David Blume was able to bring the organic matter up to the 25% level within a couple of years. From this field he harvested the crops '8 times what the USDA claims are possible per square foot.' "
